We’re seeking a hands-on Director of Business Intelligence to lead the execution of an enterprise data strategy. This role blends technical expertise in BI, data governance, metadata management, and data engineering with strategic leadership across business and technology teams to drive cross-functional data initiatives.
Reporting to senior IT leadership, the Director will oversee enterprise BI platforms, cloud data architecture, and data/ML pipelines while managing one internal data engineer and external consultants. This leader will build a scalable data ecosystem, champion analytics and automation, and enable data-informed decision-making across the organization.
Responsibilities
● Lead development of dashboards, data models, and insights for senior leadership and business units
● Drive BI adoption by promoting data literacy, training programs, and stakeholder engagement
● Oversee evolution of data infrastructure into a modern, flexible, cloud-based platform integrating AI and analytics
● Implement robust data models, semantic layers, and governance for Tableau and Power BI self-service analytics
● Establish and enforce standards for dashboards, visualization, and data integration
● Drive Agile delivery pipelines for BI, data engineering, and AI projects
● Partner with technology, governance, and security teams to ensure compliance, privacy, and data quality standards

Requirements
● Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or related field
● 10+ years in enterprise data and BI platforms, governance, and engineering
● Strong expertise with Databricks and Azure cloud services (Data Factory, Synapse, Data Lake)
● Hands-on experience with Tableau and Power BI (development, administration, governance)
● Skilled in SQL, data modeling, and delivering BI/analytics platforms
● Experience with AI/ML solutions using Python, Databricks ML, or Azure ML (preferred)
● Familiarity with ITIL, Agile, DevOps, and SDLC practices
